Technology Fair
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 8, 2004, the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education
presented a Technology Fair in the high school cafeteria. There were student
presentations using existing classroom technology, advanced presentations by vendors and
video technology connecting classrooms to other sites. The school system's new web-site www.hashgts.k12.nj.us was introduced. Door prize
was a free computer. Refreshments were available. The event was produced by Tom Matty,
technology coordinator. A Board of Education budget presentation followed in the

Boulevard Ribbon Program Nets $2,500
The Center for Food Action received a check for $2,500 during a brief ceremony at
Bill O'Shea's Florist on February 26, 2004. The contribution was the result of
hundreds of area residents buying a ribbon and the Knights of Columbus putting up the
ribbons along The Boulevard.[Story]
Installation Dinner
The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department held their installation dinner for Fire
Chief Robert Thomasey and the Department officers at The Venetian on January 30, 2004. [Story & photos]

Snow started January 27, Tuesday night at 8 p.m., and ended about a foot later
on Wednesday at about 4 a.m.. [Story and photos]
Corpus Christi School celebrates Catholic Schools Week
Corpus Christi School celebrates Catholic Schools Week in Hasbrouck Heights,
January 25th to January 30th. The theme is "A Faith-Filled Future". Each
day, along with 8,000 other Catholic schools nationwide, Corpus Christi School will
celebrate how our school makes a difference in our parish, our community, our students,
our nation, our volunteers and our teachers. [Release]
Annual Ecumenical Epiphany Procession
An Ecumenical procession was held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday,
January 4, 2004.
At each church there was a tableau to recount the Journey of the Magi, and included brief
reciting of liturgy, and a short refrain. Light refreshments followed the service. [Photos & story]

Public Safety Complex Dedication
A dedication of the Public Safety Complex at
248 Hamilton Avenue was conducted by the Borough of Hasbrouck Heights Mayor and
Council on December 20, 2003 at 2 p.m. The Public Safety Building will house the
Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Fire Department and Municipal Court.

was held at 320 Boulevard on a snowy Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2003.

Snow began falling at about 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 14, 2003,
blanketing the area with about 5 inches of snow. By the end of the day, the snow had
changed to rain which lasted into the night.

Annual Chamber Holiday Parade
The biggest and best Chamber Parade kicked-off at 7:00 p.m. on a rainy November 28. There
were floats, marching bands, antique cars, fire trucks -- Plus Santa! Santa also

Thanksgiving Service was held at 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at St.

Chief's Tour of the new Public Safety Building
On November 11, 2003, Fire Chief Robert Thomasey and Police Chief Michael
Colaneri gave us a tour of their new Public Safety Building. This facility will
house the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Fire Department and Municipal Court. [Group 1][Group 2]

Annual CROP WALK
The entire community was invited to attend this year's CROP Walk on Sunday,
November 9, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church. The 2.4 mile route was along Burton &
Oak Grove. Refreshments were served. The CROP
WALK is an interfaith community event that helps local food pantries and food banks,
offers shelter for refugees and displaced families, and provides food and water in parts
of Africa where drought related famine imperils millions of families.
Neighbors walked to support world wide programs to help eliminate poverty and hander.

Tiffany Amariuta Wins Pre-Teen New Jersey Junior Division Title
The 2003 Pre-Teen New Jersey Scholarship and Recognition Program was held August
15-17, 2003 at the Parsippany Hilton in Parsippany, NJ. Over 800 pre-teens from New Jersey
applied, but only 92 were chosen as state finalists to compete for the junior (7-9 year
olds) and senior (10-12 year olds) division title

Teterboro Airport celebrates 100 years of aviation. [Index] to about
200 photos and movies of the Wright "B" Flyer being assembled in Teterboro
Airport during Memorial Day Weekend for the historic 1909 re-enactment flight around the
Statue of Liberty.
Wright "B' Flyer Movie
On December 17 at 1:30 p.m., the NJ Aviation Hall
of Fame, (with the Hudson Valley Stamp and Historical Society) -- held a special
ceremony commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers first sustained
powered flight. The Postal Service set up a temporary post office where the Wright
Brothers stamp was unveiled, and a special pictorial cancellation "The First Powered

October 30, 2003 -- Port Authority Chairman Anthony R. Coscia told Federal
Aviation Administrator that the Port Authority will continue to fight the FAAs
proposed policy that would force planes as large as Boeing 737s to land at Teterboro
