First Snow of the Century

After a [bitter cold snap], the temperature warmed up to a balmy 30 degrees as the snow fell for the first time of this century on January 20, 2000.  And although a snowy low overcast covered our area, the rest of the country  at 11:00 p.m. view a unique lunar eclipse in the winter sky. About 4 a.m., the sky cleared unveiling a bright moon over a snowy blanket,  as the icy wind and sub-freezing cold returned.

The snow had started  earlier when the ambulance returned to station at 10:44 a.m.
