2003 Chamber Holiday Parade

Despite a rainy, windy evening --   holiday spirits were high with the anticipation of Santa -- as the biggest & best ever Annual  Chamber Holiday Parade began 7:00 p.m., Friday night, November 28.  The parade  featured Honor Guards, marching bands, large and small floats, community groups, unique cars, fire trucks -- plus Santa!  The parade was enjoyed by thousands of children of all ages.

According to Chamber of Commerce President Thomas E. Meli, many groups contributed to this year's success to include:  The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department presented a brand new color guard just for this event, and the HHFD invited the Bergen County Fire Academy Bag-Pipe Band.

Hackensack University Medical Center adopted this parade and spent thousands of dollars for new floats, Shop-Rite of Hasbrouck Heights sponsored a major band, Kundert Volvo supplied cars, Cinelli Iron and Metal supplied floats and prizes, and McDonalds provided Ronald McDonald.  Anania Insurance Agency, Gateway Realtors, Assemblywoman Rose Marie Heck and Prudential Merendino Realty donated floats.

The Pork Store, Stop & Shop, Sylvester's, Dunkin Donuts and the Hackensack University Medical Center supplied food. Many businesses gave donations. The VFW provided the hall.  Gary Wells did the poster.  Bergen Commercial Bank, Fleet Bank and Eudan operated hot chocolate stands. Heights Flower Shoppe and Kathy Dunn sponsored Santa and Mrs. Claus's visit to the Senior Center where they met with the children immediately after the Parade.
