Candle Light Vigil
Saturday, September
15th at Depken Field

An estimated 2,000 folks attended
the Borough of Hasbrouck Heights Candle
Light Vigil held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15th at Depken Field.
The program included a Boy & Girl Scout Honor Guard, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation
by Fred W. Diekman (First Reformed Church), with comments by Mayor William J. Torre and
Assemblywoman and Former Mayor Rose Marie Heck.
It was announced that our HHPD and HHFD had
responded to the scene.
Officials from the Borough Council and Board of Education were introduced. Several
individuals and organizations were recognized for their contributions in organizing this
event.
The Scout Color Guard then lead the Candle Light Walk around the field concluding with
Benediction in the center of the football field.
Approximately a ton of food and provisions were also collected by the DPW.
Candles were provided by Justin DiPisa (Rite-Aid). Flags were donated by Ron
Kistner. Patriotic music & PA system were provided by "DJ Vito of Fantasy
Sounds".
