After several years and events later ...
Free Public Library Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The formal dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the
Hasbrouck Heights Free Public Library was held
at 320 Boulevard on a snowy Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2003.

*About August 15, 2000, new plans were proposed for a new Municipal Complex which will
include the new facilities. [Click here]
* Around
March 2000, the Free Public Library contracted CR Donnelly & Associates of Ridgewood,
NJ (a professional fund raising consultant), at a rate of $4,000 per month (not to exceed
$48,000), to assist in a fund raising campaign from private sources. It is understood that
this procedure is typical of New Library Projects.
* Proposed
new Library and Senior Center is scheduled to be located at Boulevard &
Central and current budget is about $4 million. An architect may have been
hired. Plans are around somewhere. Details are sketchy.
* Mid-November rumors suggest that discussions with
architects are taking place and that the two other houses will be demolished soon.

Land was acquired through condemnation.
One of the earlier architects rendering of the
"Hasbrouck Heights Library / Senior Center" that was considered, but not
accepted. A committee of trustees and councilmen reviewed all proposals, and decided upon
the firm of Arcari Iovino. This is the same firm hired by our council to evaluate
plans for the boro hall. No contracts have been signed for the Library/Senior Center
at this time.
