Commitment
to community service since 1931
The Hasbrouck
Heights Lions Club was founded in 1931 by civic minded professional and business men who
felt the need to give service to our community, and improve our quality of life.
Some of our accomplishments
include: the athletic field floodlights, Woodland Park land and
equipment for its pavilion, comfort station, playground and picnic facilities; portable
band shell and stage, organization of the HH Blood Association and annual blood drive, and
student loan fund. We provide free popcorn and a kiddie maze during Town Day. We also
support the annual White Cane Day and Camp Marcella, a summer camp for blind &
visually handicapped children. We provide glasses to HH needy.

Lion Victor Braun Elected
President of Camp Marcella
The Hasbrouck Heights Lions Club is proud to
announce that one of its long time members Mr. Victor Braun, also of Hasbrouck
Heights, has been elected President of Camp Marcella, New Jerseys Camp for Blind
Children. Mr. Braun has been on the Board of Directors of the camp for the past 20 years,
serving as Executive Vice President since 1995. In honor of his achievements, on October
12, 1999, The Lions Club of Hasbrouck Heights has donated $1,000 to the camp.
In Memory of Lion James W. Mason
The Mayor and Council has set up an area at the highest point overlooking Woodland Park in memory of Lion James W. Mason. The dedication was
made during a recent Lions Club barbecue. Those present included the Mayor and
Council along with the Mason family members.
HH Lions Club Collects
Eyeglasses
These youth
are among more than one million children and adults who have received free eyeglasses
compliments of the Lions. In the world today, there are approximately 500 million people
who need eyeglasses but cannot afford them. That's where you can help. By placing your
unneeded eyeglasses in our bright yellow recycling box (located
at the Boulevard and Washington) you can restore the smiles of many through the precious
gift of sight.
Our bright yellow recycling box located at the
Boulevard and Washington has collected over 2,000 pairs of glasses during the past two
years. Thank you for your contribution.
