Woodland Park Summer Concerts
[Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department]

Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department held  three free concerts in Woodland Park this summer.

The first concert on June 16 featured The Ron Gartner Show -- a dynamic, high energy Las Vegas-style show with songs by Sinatra, Bennett, Darin and Sammy.

Ron saluted Doo-Wop, American Bandstand, Motown and Soul.

A NY Times review (8/4/02) about Ron stated "Smooth Baritone, with Snappy banter and polished stage moves" -- and he delivered.

Ron’s personae and onstage presence was so vibrant and charismatic, so full of energy, enthusiasm and passion for performing, that he really connects.

He gave the Heights audience his all and they responded in kind. They danced in the aisles, clapped their hands and sang along, screamed out favorite tunes for him to croon, and leaped to their feet to give him a standing "O."

The second concert was held on July 21 and features "Boote" with music from the 50’s to the 90’s. This concert was sponsored by Otterstedt Insurance Agency.

The third concert was held on August 18 with "Double Tap" featuring Carla Culkin and music from the 70’s to today. This concert was sponsored by Gateway Realtors/GMAC Real Estate.

Shows start at 6:30 p.m. in Woodland Park under the Pavilion. Refreshments were available. ###
