Corpus Christi Church Installs New Pastor

Fr. Lewis Papera was officially installed as Pastor of Corpus Church by Bishop McDonnell during a special Mass held on Sunday, Feburary 24, 2002.  Light refreshments were then served in the school cafeteria.

About Fr. Lew --
Father Lew was ordained in 1967 following studies at Villanova University, the School of St. Phillip Neri for Delayed Vocations in Boston, Seton Hall University, and Immaculate Conception Seminary.

He was assigned to St. Francis Xavier Parish in Newark for six years and then served in team ministry at St. Joseph's Parish School in Oradell.

Father Papera became parochial vicar of St. Michael's Parish in Cranford in 1985.    Following a sabbatical, he became pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Rochelle Park in 1990.

He was named Administrator of Corpus Christi Church in August 2001 and was named Pastor in December 2001.

Father Lew brings great energy and enthusiasm to our school and offers the children, faculty and administration his unwavering support and guidance.
