Enjoyed you're site. Takes me back a little, but not far enough. Does anyone recall "Phil's Candy Store" on the N/W corner of Division and the Blvd in 1930? I remember getting "orange ice" at two cents a cup (?) there at that time. I joined the Navy in May, 1941 at 17 yrs of age, and I was gone. I was born at and lived at 223 Henry.

Subject: Information on Cleveland Mansion or James Cleveland
I am a descendant (great-grandson) of James Cleveland of Hasbrouck Heights and Ridgewood, who according to family lore was a man of some achievement in the mid-1800s. James Cleveland had several sons, among them my Grandfather Albert Henry Cleveland, and the family lived in a fine home which was later converted into apartments and eventually burned down. Any information on this family, or any suggestions about local historical resources I might write or visit would be much appreciated. Sincerely, Kerrick Cleveland Securda Morgan Hill, California [securda@aol.com] (408)779-6673
