Torre, Trustee Chairman; Dr. Richard Stepura, Trustee; Jack DeLorenzo, President; Danielle Scipioni, Vice President; Rose Marie Sees, Secretary; Barbara Bizik, Treasurer November 2000 The Hasbrouck Heights Anti-Drug Council was formed in the 1980s and volunteers have included PTAs, Corpus Christi School, the Borough and service organizations whose goal has been to help spread the word to children and the public that drugs are bad and that you can enjoy life without drugs. Some of the various activities over the past years have included Town Day, an Eighth Grade Pool Party for the graduates, the Franklin School Youth Fitness Center improvements, Franklin School Basketball Courts, the Hasbrouck Heights Music Parents Association, musical programs in the schools, the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in the schools, Project Graduation, and First Night on New Years Eve. The Anti-Drug Council would like to include additional and innovative programs to get the community more involved and motivated. One new program planned for December is a Stroll along the Boulevard on Sunday, December 3, 2000 in conjunction with the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Circle. Details are attached. However, to implement new and better programs involves not only volunteer hours, but financial contributions as well. The Anti-Drug Council needs your help. Several thousand dollars will be needed to support the many programs. We sincerely hope you will join us in our work to educate both young people and adults that drugs do not lead to a happy and successful life.
